Rodney "Rod" L. Eaton, aged 59, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
A visitation was held on Thursday, August 24, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service honoring Rod's life will took place on Friday, August 25, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Washington.
Following the service, Rod was laid to rest in the Washington City Cemetery.
Rod was born on November 6, 1963 in Concordia to Ronald and Diane (Ouellette) Eaton. He received his education in Washington and graduated from high school in the year 1982.
On July 11, 1992, Rod entered into marriage with Michelle Jackson at his father's residence. This union brought forth two beloved sons, Braden and Jae.
Rod managed Eaton Radiator Repair Shop and assumed ownership of Eaton Body Shop after his father's passing in 2006. He was proud to carry on the family legacy as the second-generation owner of the body shop.
In his leisure time, Rod found solace in fishing and shared a love for car racing with his late father. He dedicated himself to restoring classic cars and showcasing them at various car shows.
Preceding Rod in death are his parents Ron Eaton and Diane Fell.
Rod is survived by his cherished wife Michelle; sons Jae (Morgan) Eaton and Braden (Cammie Miller) Eaton; sister Angie (Rich) Balman; brother Randy (Michelle) Eaton; as well as several dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial fund has been established and the family will determine its designation. Contributions can be sent to Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS.
