Rebecca Kay Pannbacker

Rebecca (McArthur) Pannbacker, 82, died Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Linn Community Nursing Home, Linn. She was born in Colby, Kansas On September 1, 1940, to Bill and Ethel McArthur. She received her bachelor’s degree in Music education from Kansas State University, majoring in flute/piano with a minor in piano/organ. Becky married Richard Pannbacker in 1959. Divorced in 1995. They had 3 children: Laura Guerin of California, Gretchen Herd of Colorado, and Christian Pannbacker of California. Becky lived in Washington, Kansas from 1981 until she moved to Linn Community Nursing Home in 2021. While in Washington Becky taught music lessons and worked for Washington County News, Washington County Health Department, Friendly Corners and Washington’s public library. Was active with PEO, and regularly played the organ for religious services at several churches in town. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Alec Guerin, Cameron, Jackson and Grayson Herd, and Nicholas and Olivia Pannbacker. Preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ethel, and her brother David McArthur. Memorial service to be held in late spring 2023.
