Peyton A. Chandler, 16, of Washington, KS, died April 10, 2020. A PRIVATE graveside service will be held Saturday, April 18 at the Washington City Cemetery. You can sign Peyton’s online guestbook and leave a condolence at www.wardfuneralhomekansas.com. Peyton was born September 27, 2003 at Marysville, KS, son of Michael D. Chandler and Traci J. Woodyard. He grew up in Washington and was a sophomore at Washington County High School. Peyton was active in FFA, FBLA, was on the Honor Roll and served as a class officer. He received several FFA Awards and Honors including: 2020 North Central District Proficiency Award Winner, Small Animal Production and Care, 2020 Chapter FFA Degree Recipient, 2019 State Dairy Cattle Evaluation – 2nd High Individual Overall, 2019 National FFA Convention Participant, and 2019 Washington County FFA Chapter Star Greenhand Award Recipient. He didn’t know a stranger and was a lover to all. Peyton was an adventure seeker and enjoyed fishing whenever he could whether it be the lake with his family or whatever fishing hole he could find. He was very proud of his ATV and vehicles. He enjoyed ATV’ing at the sand dunes and in the mountains and going on family vacations, being outdoors, playing basketball and being with friends and classmates. Peyton worked for the Schwartz family farms where he became part of their family. Survivors include his mother, Traci Woodyard, Washington; father and stepmom, Michael and Jeri Chandler, Washington; sisters, Jaise Chandler, Emma Fulton and Karley Stephens; brothers, Eli, Konner and Jackson Chandler; maternal grandparents, Marc Woodyard, Greenleaf, KS, Julie Stoudt, Waterville, KS, and Mike Kramer, Greenleaf; maternal aunts and uncles, Megan Woodyard and significant other Billy, Mandi and Kylee Nikkel, Ryan Huckett and Tyler Woodyard; paternal grandparents, Chuck and Michelle Walter, Kevin Chandler, Jann and Dick Jensen; paternal great-grandparents, Connie Brennan, Marie Chandler, Doris VanWinkle and Charles and Shirley Walter; paternal aunts and uncles, Nikki and Chase Anderson, Becky and Jay Youngblood, and Brandi Walter; second set of adopted parents and employers, Doug and Natalie Schwartz; stepdad, Josh Kuhaneck; step sister, Mackenzie Kuhaneck; his dog, Sophie Wophie Chandler; and numerous cousins and friends who were like family.
