Norman “Cowboy” Stigge, 83, Morrowville, died January 31, 2025 in Fayetteville, AR.

On February 24, 2025 from 5 to 8 p.m., the family will receive friends for visitation at The Brewery in Washington.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on February 25, 2025 with Father David Metz officiating.

Burial will be St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery, Kimeo, KS

Norman was born in Washington to Otto and Leona (Beikman) Stigge on July 27, 1941. In 1959, he graduated from Washington High School. He grew up farming with his dad and brothers before being drafted to the Army in 1963. After being honorably discharged he returned to farming.

On his birthday in 1968, he was united in marriage to Maureen Hogan at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kimeo. They were blessed with two sons, Brian and Shawn.

He continued farming until late 80’s and then became an over the road semi-truck driver for Keim Transportation in Sabetha, KS. Norman drove millions of miles and through all 48 continental states. Norman retired at 65 but then returned to driving for Midwest Products in Hanover, KS for years after.

Norman was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and the Hanover American Legion. He spent many years enjoying fishing, hunting and working with horses and cattle. Later in life he enjoyed relaxing and spending time around his grandkids. Norman also was known to enjoy spending time at his favorite local tavern having conversation with many friends over the years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Maureen in 2024; stepfather, Albert Wiechman; brother, LaVern Stigge; sister, Ruth True and sister-in-law, Dorothy Stigge.

Survivors include sons, Brian (Lauren) Stigge, Shawn (Christy) Stigge; grandchildren, Otto, Leora, Elaina, Elsie and Nora; brother, Dennis Stigge.

A memorial fund is established to the Hanover American Legion. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS. 66968
