Lola A. Donigan

Lola A. Donigan, 94, of Greenleaf, Kan., died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Centennial Homestead Nursing Home, Washington. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 20, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 143 Main St, Greenleaf, KS 66943.  A rosary service will begin at 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Kimeo. Lola was born on July 21, 1924 in Kimeo, Kan., to Martin and Johanna (Burke) Hoover.  On October 25, 1944, she was united in marriage to James Donigan at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kimeo.  In the early 50’s, they moved to Kansas City, MO, returning to Greenleaf in 1986. Lola was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO, St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mission, KS and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Greenleaf, KS.  She was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Altar Society and sang with the choir. Lola loved playing the piano, cooking and playing a few card games with family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Jim, in 2009; and siblings, Marcelline Bennett, Marcella Hogan, Viola Hoover, Fabian Hoover, Laurence Hoover, Florence Pickett and Leonard Hoover. Survivors include children, Jeannine Donigan (Richard Towle), Kona, Hawaii; Theresa Donigan, Kansas City, Mo.; James (Leslie) Donigan, Kansas City, Mo.; John (Patricia) Donigan, Raymore, Mo.;  Dennis Donigan (Cheryl), Boulder, Colo.; Maria (Mark) Thornhill, Kansas City, Mo.; Michael Donigan and Patrick Donigan, both of Olathe, Kan.; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
