Larry L. Ditmars, 68, of Washington, KS, died December 22, 2021, at his home. A private family graveside service was held at Brethren Cemetery in Washington, KS. Larry was born September 11, 1953, in Belleville to Lloyd and Catharine “Kay” (Dilling) Ditmars. He graduated from Washington High School and attended college. On November 8, 1980, he was united in marriage to Diane Zimbelmann at Sutton, NE. Larry was a jack of all trades. He was a farmer, truck driver, bus driver, handyman and a longtime mechanic. He liked restoring Ford tractors and trucks. He was a custom harvester and a distributor/salesman for Archer Oil. Larry was a member of the Brethren Church in Washington and served as a pastor. He led projects for Brethren Disaster Relief. He would travel and help those in need from natural disasters. He was a camp counselor for the Brethern Church and enjoyed working with the campers. Larry liked to talk and visit on social media, play cards (rook, pitch and pinochle), make and eat homemade ice cream and enjoyed old westerns and cowboys and the cold and snow. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include wife, Diane; brothers, Chalmer (Leyla) Ditmars, Washington, Ron (Brenda Moore), Spring Hill; sister, Judy (Les) Elder, Fairbury, brother-in-law, Larry (Linda) Zimbelmann; sister-in-law, Patty Zeleny and fiancé Kent Baker; and several nieces and nephews.
