It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Idonna Rogge, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, on March 18, 2025, in Topeka, KS. She departed this world at the age of 81, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those fortunate to have known her.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church, 17th & Gage, Topeka.

A graveside service for Idonna Rogge will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Palmer, KS. Family and friends are invited.

Idonna was born in Concordia, KS, on January 28th, 1944, to Paul and Esther Ohlde. She was baptised and confirmed at St John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer, KS, and attended St John’s Lutheran School as a child. Idonna graduated from Linn High School in 1962. This is also where she would meet her future husband, Fred. The two were married at St John’s on August 24th, 1963.

Following high school, Idonna attended Clarks Business School in Topeka and was employed by Security Benefit, but once married, she soon joined Fred in Linn, KS.

After the birth of their daughter, Deneen, the young family proceeded to Kansas State University, where Idonna worked in the school’s admissions office and cared for her family as Fred completed his degree. After graduation, they relocated to Hutchinson, KS, where their daughter, Debra, was born, and Idonna met many lifelong friends, enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, and supporting the girls’ schooling and activities. The family settled down in Topeka in 1980, and life continued to bless them with many new friends and family throughout the years.

Idonna was known for her warm and welcoming nature. Her home was a haven of comfort and laughter, where friends and family gathered to create lasting memories. Her passion for sports (Kansas State, Chiefs, Royals, and even Kansas University occasionally) and creativity (painting, crafting, sewing, quilting) added vibrancy to her life, and her bottomless memory of stories and experiences has left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Idonna’s life was a testament to the power of faith and family, exemplifying the deep bonds and enduring love that she cultivated with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. Her unwavering commitment to her family and friends was evident in every aspect of her life, as she joyfully celebrated their achievements and offered steadfast support through each of life’s challenges.

Idonna is survived by her husband, Fred, and daughters, Deneen Rogge of Spring Hill, and Debra (Brian) Marney of Topeka, and her adored grandchildren, Trevor Thurston, Braeden Thurston, Julia Willis, Christian Marney, Alexander Marney and Shea Marney, siblings Larry (Marilyn) Ohlde of Palmer, Karen (Kenneth) Crome of Marysville, Rita Siebold of Clay Center, Royce (Clarice) Ohlde of Palmer, and dozens of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Though she may no longer be with us, Idonna's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
