Eugene "Gene" C. Miller

Gene Miller, 70, Washington, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his home. A private family burial will take place. Gene was born in Sheldon, IA on October 1, 1951 to Bruce V. and Betty “Kit” (Noyes) Miller. He lived there until 1960, when they moved to Washington. In 1969 he graduated Washington High School and attended KSU, earning an associate degree in horticulture. In November of 1978, he married Mary M. (Midge) Yungeberg. Gene and Midge became owners of Miller’s Flowers in Washington when Bruce and Kit retired in 1993. Gene loved working with flowers, working in the nursery, garden center and growing springtime seedlings and flowers in the greenhouse. He also like to spend his free time camping. He retired from the business in 2021. Preceding him in death was his father, Bruce. Survivors include his mother, Kit; sister, Gail Cox; nephew Edward, niece, Katie and great nephew Dylan, all from Arizona; and ex-wife, Midge Miller. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
