Erwin Keith Welch, 86, Washington, died Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Leonardville Nursing Home, Leonardville, KS. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, at Ward Funeral Home, Washington. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, at Ward Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed on our Ward Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in the Washington City Cemetery. Keith was born July 5, 1934 to Doss and Ella Mae (Peterson) Welch at Haddam. He was a graduate of Morrowville High School. On October 8, 1953, he was united in marriage to Alberta Corbin at Enosdale. They were blessed with three children, Donald, Cynthia and Jill. He worked for Johnson Trucking, Hill Oil Company and the State of Kansas Department of Roads. In 1996, he retired but continued working for Midwest Products. Keith enjoyed camping with his children and grandchildren. Keith suffered a brain aneurism and never fully recovered. He has been at the Leonardville Nursing Home, fourteen years. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Alberta; son, Donald Welch; son-in-law, Ron Clay; brother, Verlin Welch; and granddaughter, Katie Welch. Survivors include daughters, Cindi Clay, Hollenberg, Jill (Jerry) Hoover, Washington; sisters, Donna Wichman, Clay Center, Anita Wells, Gretna, NE; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
