Duane William Klozenbucher, 86, of Greenleaf, KS, died Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Washington County Hospital, Washington, KS. Visitation was Wednesday, March 20 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington, KS. A rosary service began at 6:00 p.m. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 21, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Father Joseph Kieffer officiated. Gina Miller was organist and the congregation sang "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace," "On Eagles Wings," "Here I Am Lord" and "Song of Farewell." Pallbearers were Nicholas Wilson, Brian Seacat, Colin Seacat, Allison Wilson, Guy Wilson and Dwann Seacat. Burial was in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Kimeo, KS. Duane was born on November 11, 1932 in Kimeo, KS, to William and Velda (Wisner) Klozenbucher. He graduated from Greenleaf High School in 1950 and joined the Air Force. He served in many places including Morocco. He was united in marriage to Patricia Hogan on October 4, 1958 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kimeo, KS. They were the parents of four children. They were lifetime farmers in the Kimeo community. Duane served on the Barnes District School board for many years. He also served on the Saint Michael’s Parish Council, the Greenleaf CO-OP board and as a Kimeo Township Trustee. After retirement he enjoyed volunteering at the Washington County Historical and Genealogical Society. Survivors include his wife Pat; sons, James (Rita) and Thomas of Greenleaf; daughters Karen (Guy Wilson) Klozenbucher, Chardon, OH and Marian (Dwann) Seacat, Bucklin, KS; grandchildren, Nicholas and Allison Wilson, Brian and Colin Seacat and Jennifer Cass; sister, Clara Mortenson, Manhattan; and sister-in-law Rosemary Klozenbucher, Greenleaf. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Velda; brother, Edward Klozenbucher; and brother-in-law, Norman Mortenson. A memorial fund has been established to St. Michael's Catholic Church or St. Michael's Cemetery Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
