Dorisalene M. “Doris” Woerner, 60, Greenleaf, died Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Hanover Hospital in Hanover after battling a long illness. Visitation is Thursday, June 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Linn. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 2, at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Linn, Kansas. Doris was born August 1, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas to Mary Reynolds Dupree. She was baptized in Washington and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn by Rev. David Gruoner. In 1980, she graduated from Washington High School and briefly attended Beloit Vo Tech before marrying Richard L. Smith. They had a daughter together and later divorced. On July 17, 1999, she was united in marriage to Craig Woerner at Zion Lutheran Church. Doris worked as a CMA, as a job coach for Twin Valley Development and for Landoll Corporation. At the time of her death, she was employed at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville and was an EMT with the City of Linn. Preceding her in death was her mother; mother and father-n-law, Raymond and Evelyn Woerner; brother, Milford Gene Sample; and sister-in-law, Anita Woerner. Survivors include her loving husband, Craig; children, Jamie (Joe Volle) Smith, Brandon (Allie Danielson) Woerner and Michaela (Kurt) Duis; siblings, Jesse (Margarida) Williams, Christine Reynolds, Charles (Christine) Sampel and Dan Broxterman; brothers-in-law, Mike (Beth) Woerner, Kent Woerner and Kevin (Michelle) Woerner; and grandchildren, Brayden, Harper, Kendall, Avery and Kohen; and many nieces and nephews A memorial fund is established to Zion Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
