Debra J. Hatesohl, 68, Greenleaf, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at her home.
Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m., Sunday, April 27, at Ward Funeral Home in Linn with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 28, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Randy Jahnke officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Deb was born to Emil and Mildred (Hiesterman) Peters in Washington, KS on May 28, 1956. She was confirmed in her faith in 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church. In 1974, she graduated from Linn High School.
She was united in marriage to Lonnie Hatesohl on June 7, 1975 and they were blessed with two sons, Jared and Shelby. Deb worked alongside her family at Linn Post and Pipe. Later, she pursued a career in nursing. She was passionate about caring for the elderly in local nursing homes and providing home health services. Deb was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and was respected by many.
Deb was a devoted member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She belonged to the LWML, was a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader. She loved refurbishing old furniture, golfing and working with 4-H Photography. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed hosting family dinners with her children and grandchildren. Deb was known for her sense of humor. Even after her diagnosis her sense of humor did not fade.
Preceding her in death were her parents; Emil and Mildred, sister-in-law, Jeanette Peters, and brother-in-law Larry Hatesohl
Survivors include her husband, Lonnie; sons, Jared (Kelsey) Hatesohl, Shelby (Maggie) Hatesohl; and brothers, Bruce (Carol) Peters, Mike Peters and Mark (Bonita) Peters; and three grandchildren, Hudson, Abigail and Madeline.
A memorial fund is established to Linn Lutheran School or Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, PO Box 157, Washington, KS 66968.
