Charles "Charley" A. Stoker, 75, Morrowville, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his home. Visitation was held from 4 until 8 p.m., Sunday, June 2 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington. The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service was 11 a.m., Monday, June 3 at the Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville. Pastor Ron Brown officiated. Music selections were "Daddy's Hands," "Grandpa" and "Amazing Grace." Charles was born on March 31, 1944 at Concordia, KS to Russell and Violet (Mitler) Stoker. He graduated Morrowville High School in 1962. Charley was a farmer and worked at various jobs including, Clougherty Packing, New Holland, M & M Tire, Farmers Coop, Washington County and Elliott Construction. In his own words, he did everything but be a preacher and a politician. Charley was a member of the Mason’s, Shrine Club, NRA and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and horses. One of his favorite activities was traveling to Cheyenne and attending Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo with his family and friends. Other interests were, investing, politics and the Republican party. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Arthur “Ted” Stoker, Richard Stoker, a brother in infancy; and a grandson, Adam Ramos. Survivors include daughters, April (Richard) Ramos, Lawrence, KS, Joni (Kevin) Yates, Papillion, NE; sister, Linda Vytlacil; grandchildren, Abigail (Derek) Christian, Allison Ramos, Anthony Ramos, Emily Yates and Rachel Yates; and great granddaughter, Addyson Christian. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
