Betty Lou Christensen, 73, Greenleaf, died January 1, 2023 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. Family services will be held later at Glasco Cemetery, Glasco, KS. Betty was born January 3, 1949 in Concordia to Lawrence and Esther (Hagan) Murdock. On October 6, 1967, she was united in marriage to Eugene Christensen at Concordia. Betty worked as a CMA for the Nicol Home for several years. She loved spending time with family and friends, watching NASCAR and deer hunting. She was loved by all her nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her parents-in-law, Harvey and Juanita Christensen; husband Eugene in 2012; sisters, Martha Pellant, Judy Wise; and brothers Larry Murdock and James Murdock. Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda (Jeff) Smartt, Jerri (KC Matthews) Christensen; sister, Linda (Frank) Huckett, brothers, Tom Murdock, Bob (Patti) Murdock; and brothers-in-law, Bill (Delores) Christensen, Chris Wise and Pete Pellant; and six grandchildren, Dalton (Shara) Smartt, Trent Smartt, Madison Smartt, Morgan Adams, Davoren Christensen, Darcy Christensen and three great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established and will be designated. Memorials and flowers may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
