Karen Kay Price, age 53 of Washington, Kansas, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. Karen, the daughter of Elmer and Betty (Baker) Zabokrtsky, was born September 10, 1953 at Hastings, Nebraska. Karen graduated from Washington High School in 1971 and she received her Associate Degree in 1991 from Cloud County Community College at Concordia, Kansas. She was the CEO of Kansas Specialty Dog Service at the time of her death. Karen was united in marriage to Kenneth C. Price on February 15,2001 at the United Methodist Church in Washington. She was a member of the United Methodist Church; PEO Chapter AN of Washington; United Methodist Women; Modern Pioneers Club; former President of the Washington Lions Club and was a former Club and Project Leader in 4-H. She is survived by her parents, Elmer and Betty Zabokrtsky of Washington; her husband, Kenneth Price of Washington; 3 sons, Aaron Acree and wife Jenny of Concordia, Kansas, Caleb Acree and wife Fran of Topeka, Kansas and Luke Acree of Norman, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Keith Zabokrtsky and wife Debbie of Washington; 1 sister, Peggy Chapin and husband Mark of Washington, Kansas; 1 stepson, Craig Price and wife Andrea of Lincoln, Nebraska; 2 stepdaughters, Cynthia Stewart and husband Clint of Stanton, Nebraska and Kristi Taggert and husband Scott of Bradshaw, Nebraska; also survived by 9 Grandchildren. Karen’s CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held, Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Washington with the Reverend Phil Morris officiating. There will be a private inurnment of the cremains at the Washington City Cemetery. A memorial has been established to KSDS of Washington or the First United Methodist Church of Washington. The I Q Quartet who was accompanied by Mrs. Becky Pannbacker provided music for the service. Luke Acree provided special piano music for the service. Services conducted by Ward Funeral Home, Washington, Kansas.
