Ellen L. Lawson

Ellen Louise Lawson passed away December 29, 2006 at Lee Memorial Hospital due to complications of cervical cancer. She was born June 18, 1941 in Baltimore, MD. Ellen was employed as a counselor by Village Oaks Elementary School, Immokalee, FL. Prior to moving to Naples in 1997, she was a counselor in the Shawnee Mission Kansas School System for 29 years before retiring. Her bachelor’s degree in education was from Towson University and she earned a Master’s plus 60 hours from various other universities. Her parents, John and Elizabeth Lawson, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, John G. Kozel of Naples; a sister, Carol Uebersax of Westminster, MD; and a niece and nephew, Julie Uebersax and Kurt Uebersax. Funeral service for Ellen will be at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Washington, KS, Friday, January 5, 2007 at 10:00 am. Father James Hoover and Sister Marilyn Wall will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter & Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Morrowville, KS. Memorial contributions should be made to the Lee Memorial Hospital Trauma Unit, Ft. Myers, FL.
