James Fencl, 80, Beatrice, NE, died Sept. 21, 2010, at Good Samaritan Home, Beatrice. He was born June 22, 1930, at Haddam, KS, to Henry and Agnes Heider Fencl. He served in the Korean War from January 1951 to January 1953, earning a bronze star. He was a manager at Skelly Gas Station and also worked at other gas stations. He also worked in a meat packing plant and Boeing plant in Wichita, at a steel and iron foundry in Iola, was a city utilities worker in Belleville, and a farm laborer in north-central Kansas. On January 7, 1956, he married Carolyn Johnson in Wichita. He later married Marilyn Kite. Survivors include a son, Larry Fencl Stockebrand, Yates Center; daughter, Karen Reinbolt, Ft. Scott; step-son; six grandchildren; sisters, Lora Simmons, Newton, Mary Griffin, Fairbury, NE, Peggy Svanda and Carol Small, both of Washington; and Sharon Fencl, Clay Center; brothers, Wayne Fencl, Lancaster, CA, Joseph Fencl, Washington, Roy Fencl, Pumpkin Center, CA, and Roger Fencl, Sand Springs, OK. He was preceded in death by three brothers, infant Henry Jr., Gary and Don. Burial was in the Haddam Cemetery.
