Evelyne Louise Graham, 86, died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at her home in Washington, Kansas. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, at the Washington Christian Church. Rev. Darel Boston and Rev. John Frey officiated. The organist, Gay Lynn Manning, played prelude music. Prerecorded music by the family, "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away" was played during the service. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Keith Finlayson, Paul Stewart, Anthony Stamm, Leland Cook, Lee Pifer and Mike Manning. Evelyne was born on October, 13, 1923 at Marysville, KS, daughter of Floyd James and Anita Lavendar (Welch) Fletcher. The family moved to Washington when Evelyne was in the 5th grade. She graduated from Washington High School in 1941. On May 16, 1942, she married Lawrence Graham at Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Los Angeles, CA, until moving to Washington in 1944. To this union five children were born. Evelyne was a member on LLD Club, Ash Creek Unit and Washington Christian Church. Her parents; sister, Esther Young; husband, Lawrence, on May 20, 1988; and great-granddaughter, Kamryn Aufdengarten, in 2006, preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Larry Graham and wife, Susan, Michael Graham and wife, Blanche, Stephen Graham; two daughters, Sharon Aufdengarten and husband, David, Martha Mosteller and husband, Charles, all of Washington; ten grandchildren, JoAnn Fritz and husband, Edd, Todd Graham and wife, Rose, Brian Aufdengarten and wife, Diana, Eric Aufdengarten, Gina Schnelle and husband, Lock, Wanda Buckland and husband, Preston, Carla Montague and husband, Chris, Heather Carder and husband, Matthew, Amber Anderson and husband, Jason, David Graham and wife, Brandy; fourteen great-grandchildren, Rachel Franklin and husband, Jason, Danielle Fritz, Taylor Fritz, Ian Graham, Kylie and Kadynce Aufdengarten, Addison Schnelle, Emily and Nathan Buckland, Grace and Malachi Carder, Claire Anderson, Chloe and Eva Graham; two great-great-grandchildren, Brayden and Hudson Franklin; two sister-in-laws, Gloria Graham and Frances Graham; and brother-in-law, Dwight Graham. A memorial fund has been established to the Washington Christian Church or Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
