Elvera Richardson

Elvera Richardson, 63, Linn, died, September 21, 2006, at the Washington County Hospital, Washington. She was born March 1, 1943 at Clay Center, Ks to Arnold and Elsa (Herrs) Helms. Elvera was baptized March 12, 1943 and confirmed April 14, 1957 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by the Rev. John D. Kovac. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Linn High School. She worked as a certified nursed aid and certified rehabilitation aid at the Linn Community Nursing Home. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran and former member of the Ladies Aid. On October 21, 1962 she was united in marriage to Donald Richardson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. To this union they were blessed with three girls and four boys. Elvera was preceded in death by her father on Oct. 21, 1990. She is survived by her husband, Don; sons, Ronald and wife Kathy, Wakefield, David and wife Deborah, Ottawa, Robert and wife Mary Ann, Melvern, Kevin and wife Marsha, Linn; daughters, Pam Keller and husband Kevin, Debra Rieth and husband Travis all of Washington, Mary Jane Cornett and husband Rodger, Leavenworth; mother, Elsa Helms, Linn; brother Lennis Helms, Linn; sister, Arlene Beikmann and husband Harold, Palmer; 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Linn, on Monday, September 25 at 10:00 am. Don Dodd will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Casket bearers are Don Moser (friend), J.D. Sanders (nephew), Mark Beikmann (nephew), Mike Beikmann (nephew), Mel Beikmann (nephew), Victor Hartman (cousin). Visitation will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, Linn, Sunday, September 24 from 3 to 7 pm. A memorial service has been established in her name to be designated by the family at a later time.
