Raymond Gordon, 91, Morrowville, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Augusta, Kansas. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor John Frey officiated. The pallbearers were Leslie Johnston, Lloyd Johnston, Mike Smith, Bud Gordon, Dennis Sedlachek and Jon Sedlachek. Burial was in the Morrowville Cemetery. Raymond was born at Strawberry to Leo Leslie and Leona (Carpenter) Gordon. Bud served in the Army during WWII. He then worked in Wichita as a semi truck mechanic. He also was a road grader operator and a horse trader. He liked playing the slot machines, dancing, music, fishing, horses and spending time with family. He also spent time playing in a band. He was preceded in death by both his wives, first wife, Ruth Fowler, second wife, Mary Leona Evans; parents; and eleven siblings, Leo E. Gordon, Myrtle Carlson, Vivian McChulum, Geneva Sedlacek, Coy Gordon, Billy Gordon, Evelyn Back, LeRoy Gordon, Jimmie Gordon, Austin Gordon and Elzie Gordon. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Memorials will be designated later and can be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
