Washington, Kansas – Edd A. Rudkins, age 93 of Washington, Kansas, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Washington. He was born November 9, 1912 at Franklin Township, Washington County Kansas. He was the son of George H. and Minnie L. (nee Stone) Rudkins. Edd attended school in the Franklin Township area. He was united in marriage to Lucille E. Henke on September 25, 1940 at the Methodist Parsonage in Belleville, Kansas. To this union one daughter was born. Edd was a lifelong farmer and upon retirement he and Lucille moved to Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Rudkins; two brothers, Bill and Leroy Rudkins; one sister Helen A. Rudkins. He is survived by his wife Lucille of Washington, Kansas; one daughter, Marlene Iwert and husband William of Garden City, Kansas; one sister Violet Henke of Washington, Kansas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ward Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Phil Morris officiating. Interment will be held at the Hollenberg Cemetery at Hollenberg. Casket bearers are, Terry Bailey, Dennis Baumgartner, David Iwert, Bill Kern, Christopher Roskilly and David Sampson. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 18, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Ward Funeral Home in Washington.
