Hulda M. Beikman

Hulda M. Beikman, 97, Washington, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. She was born on October 19, 1908 to Herman and Anna (Kohlmeier) Reith in Strawberry Township, KS. Hulda was a homemaker, also worked outside the home as a housekeeper and did ironing. She was united in marriage to Walter Reith on March 31, 1929 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Linn. The were blessed with three sons and a daughter, Raymond, LeRoy (Lee), Donald and Viola. Walter preceded her in death on April 27, 1981. Hulda was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Fred, Louis and John; and two sisters, Anna Boerger and Eleanor Bosse. She is survived by sons, Raymond and wife Barbara, Independence, MO., Lee and wife Marla, Dallas, TX, Donald and wife Tina, Hammonton, NJ; daughter Viola Stigge, Washington; 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Funeral service for Hulda was held at 2:30 on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Greenleaf. Pastor Rodney Fritz officiated. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Linn. Casket bearers were Tim Pinkowski, Jim Capell, “Don Martin, Dennis Stigge, Jeremy Martin and Larry Reith. A memorial fund was established to be designated by the family at a later date.
