Larry D. Zenger, 69, Haddam, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Onaga, KS. Visitation was 2 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 10 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service was 10 a.m., Thursday, January 11 at the United Methodist Church, Haddam, KS. Rev. Dan Norwood officiated. The music played was "I Can Only Imagine," "Hallelujah" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain." Pallbearers were Allan Zenger, Greg Zenger, Richard Zenger, Dewayne Grove, Joe Greenwood, Casper Talkington. Honorary Pallbearers were Aaron Benyshek, Cole Callaway, Trenton Ross, Jaiden Kolterman, Trenton Zenger, Brayttan Zenger, Gavin Zenger, Will Zenger and Cooper Callaway. Burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Haddam. Larry was born on July 14, 1948 to August and Zola (Congelton) Zenger at Belleville, KS. Herm graduated in 1966 from Haddam High School. He worked as a custodian for North Central School District, the Haddam Elevator and at the Fairbury Farmers Coop, retiring in 2014. Herm loved Green Bay Packers football, fishing and being with his grandchildren and family. On September 2, 1972, he was united in marriage to LeIla Nutz at the United Methodist Church in Haddam. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Katina (Brian) Kolterman, Onaga; sons, Chad (Keri) Zenger, Onaga, Jeffrey Zenger, Andrew (Jennifer) Zenger, both of Haddam; brother, Willard (Cheryl) Zenger, Haddam; sisters, Linda Corbin, Fairbury, NE, Twila Stoker, Washington; seventeen grandchildren and one great grandson. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Keith Zenger, John Zenger and Harold Zenger; and sisters, Letha Pischer, Martha Wilson, Stella Day and Ida Woodward. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
