Loren D. Funke

Loren Douglas Funke, 73, Washington, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Washington County Hospital. He was born at Odell, NE on May 15, 1944 to Louis and Nettie (Godden) Funke. Loren served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1965, on an aircraft carrier with his brothers. For twenty-five years, Loren was a police detective in Kansas City, MO. After his retirement from the force in Kansas City, he worked in various towns in Missouri and Kansas as an officer. He was an officer in Marysville for a while. Loren loved his dog, Pappy and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include son, Douglas Funke, Springfield, MO; brothers, Bob (Judy) Funke, Gary (Mary K.) Funke, both of Washington; sisters, Phyllis Sweetland, Wichita, Glenda Tegethoff, Topeka and Debra (David) Wohlers, Kirksville, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
