Jeanette Kay Hoerner, 71, Linn, died Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Clay County Medical Center. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Linn. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 27 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Linn. Pastor Tom Sahl will officiate. The pallbearers will be Wheatie Nelson, Ebb Nelson, Andrew Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Bodie Johnson, and Todd Rahe. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Jeanette was born August 24, 1946 to Herman and Christina (Boerger) Lehman in rural Washington County, Kansas. She graduated high school and worked at Blaske’s café as a waitress. She married Jimmie Nelson on July 3, 1965 at St. Paul Lutheran in Linn. They later divorced. Jeanette soon after went to work at Gilmore Tatge in Clay Center, where she became a welder. Later she worked towards and received her nurses aid certification, and began working at the Linn Community Nursing Home. The residents there always loved Jeanette’s caring ways and bright smile. She worked for the nursing home over 20 years. On January 3, 1991, she married Richard Hoerner. He survives. Other survivors include her children, Shelley McClain, Clay Center, KS, Kim (Stan) Johnson,Kelly, KS and Darrin (Galenna) Nelson, Topeka, KS; six sisters, Catherine Wilkens, Louise Rahe, Lillian Rippe, Ruth Simnitt, Patty Rahe, and Judy Lotz; three brothers, Lawrence Lehman, Leroy Lehman, and Billy Lehman; and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Dorothy Long, Betty Long, Mary Banninger, Helen Lehman, and Ida Jane Lehman; and three brothers, Leonard Lehman, Robert Lehman, and Terry Lehman.
