Betty L. Nutsch, the daughter of William J. and Lillian Schleier Hiltgen, was born October 26, 1922 at Barnes, Kansas. She died April 28, 2006 at Fairbury, Nebraska at the age of 83. Betty was a homemaker and was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Morrowville. She was a member of the altar society at the church. Betty attended school at Barnes and graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Edward Nutsch on November 23, 1968 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Washington. She is survived by her husband Edward of Fairbury; one son, Donn Roberts and wife Paulette of Mableton, Georgia; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary Roberts; four brothers, Walter Hiltgen, Leland Hiltgen, Glenn Hiltgen and Clifford Hiltgen. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Washington with Father James Hoover and Sister Marilyn Wall officiating. Interment was held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery at Morrowville, Kansas. Organist for the service was Regina Cardinal. Honorary casket bearers were Verda Lindsley and Jean Moser. Casket bearers were Ed Durst, John Durst, Aaron Tiemeyer, Francis Nutsch, Larry Lindsley and Gary Roberts Jr. A memorial has been established. Services conducted by Ward Funeral Home, Washington, Kansas.
