Elvin R. Kolars, 75, of Linn, KS, died Monday, December 5, 2016, at Linn. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 9, at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington with Pastor Randy Jellison-Knock officiating. Sheila Ouellette was organist and the congregation sang “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Pallbearers were Shawn Pearson, Timothy Kolars, Thomas Sysel, Burton Vculek, Michael Vculek and Todd Schuetz. Burial was in the National Bohemian (Kopsa) Cemetery, Cuba, KS. Elvin was born at Cuba, KS on March 23, 1941 to Frank and Lillian (Krhounek) Kolars. He worked for Titan West in Linn as a welder. Elvin enjoyed repairing and restoring tractors and lawnmowers and collecting all sorts of clocks. Elvin liked to fish and his favorite dessert was pie with cool whip. He was a fun loving and easy going guy. Preceding him in death was his parents; and a sister, Dorothy Vculek. Survivors include his ex-wife, Carolyn Kolars, Fairbury; sons, Timothy Kolars, Thomas Sysel, both of Crete, NE; daughters Theresa (Todd) Fritz-Schuetz, Omaha, NE, Kathryn Sysel, Crete, NE; brother, Marvin Kolars, Malcolm, IA; fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
