Anita K. Bott, 70, Washington, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Homestead Nursing Home, Washington. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14 at the First Christian Church in Washington. Rev. Jim Stark and Clayton Portenier officiated. Dennis Portenier was the pianist and sang “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.” The congregations sang “Amazing Grace,” “Victory in Jesus” and “Because He Lives.” Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Anita was born April 10, 1946, to Wilbur and Mary (Dodd) Colgrove. She grew up on her family’s farm near Enosdale, Kansas. She attended grade school at Enosdale and graduated from Linn Rural High School in 1964. Following high school, Anita lived and worked in Wichita, St. Louis, and Manhattan. On September 4, 1971, she married Raymond Bott at Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville, Kansas. They were blessed with four children. Anita worked in the family real estate and auction business with her husband and children for many years. She enjoyed farming and raising cattle with her husband and son. Anita loved visiting with people and having people gather at her house. Anita loved her family and enjoyed attending the ball games and activities of her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Raymond, three daughters and one son, Lacey & Lance Parker, Bennet, NE, Laura & Brent Close, Clyde, Laramie & David Jueneman, Washington, and Luke Bott, Washington; and eight grandchildren, Emmett, Mason, Lena, & Will Parker, Eden & Abram Close, and Cole & Kyler Jueneman. One sister, Twila Brandt, Wichita, and one brother Dwight Colgrove, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Dorothy Brandt.
