Margaret D. Baird

Margaret Dorothy Baird, 97, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. She was born April 23, 1908 to Daniel August and Magdalena (Specht) Wohler in Riley County. Margaret was a homemaker and a retail sales clerk. She married Floyd M. Baird at Green, KS on February 22, 1928. Floyd preceded her in death on June 9, 1947. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; infant son; daughter Eldred Baird; daughter in law, Alice Faye Baird; great grandson, Jacob Malloy; and two brothers, Bernard and Harold Wohler. She is survived by sons, Neil Baird and Sylvia, Overland Park, Robert Baird and Patricia, Fort Scott, Roland Baird, Washington; daughters, Marcia Mauer and Gale, Hastings, NE, Sharon Soudek and Eldon, Topeka; 9 grand children, 2 step grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and 13 step great great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church, Washington. Burial will be in the Washington City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Ward Funeral Home in Washington from 6 - 7:30 pm.
