Janice I. Cecrle, 74, Hollenberg, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Washington County Hospital, Washington. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington. A funeral service was 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at the Washington Christian Church with Rev. Jim Stark officiating. Gay Lynn Manning was organist. Carly Crome sang “You Are My All in All,” Rick and Julie Tegethoff sang “Jesus is Calling,” Dennis Portenier sang “How Great Thou Art” and the congregation sang “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Linenberger, Ty Cecrle, Faith Cecrle, Kenton Tegethoff, Claire Linenberger, Tess Cecrle, Carly Crome, Gatlin Willbrant, Kileab Willbrant and Rylan Willbrant. Burial will be private. Janice Cecrle was born on December 19, 1941. She was the daughter of Garold and DeLoris Rosenkranz. Throughout Janice’s childhood, she enjoyed making memories with her many Rosenkranz cousins on Sunday afternoons. She graduated from Washington High School in 1959 and attended cosmetology school in Nebraska. In 1961, Janice married Albert Stenglemeier and had three children: Jana, Dana, and Bobbi. Janice operated Janice’s Beauty Shop on the Washington Square in the early 70’s, but in 1973, Janice pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She earned her LPN license and then achieved her goal of becoming an RN May 16,1991, 7 months shy of turning 50. Janice was united in marriage to George F. Cecrle on June 21, 1974 at the Washington Christian Church. Together, they had two children: George Jr. and Jennifer. Not only did Janice work as a nurse, but she also supported the family farm by assisting in all areas. She was always willing to help others in any way that she could. Janice’s interests ranged from gardening and baking to KU basketball. She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed scripture. As a member of the Christian Church, Janice was involved in the Coteri. She devoted her time to faith, family, and friends. Janice cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Janice Cecrle, 74, peacefully passed on April 27th, 2016 at the Washington County Hospital. Survivors include her husband, George; children, Jana (Mark) Linenberger, Keller, TX; Dana (Diana) Cecrle, Washington; Bobbi (Stan Griffith) McGrath, Holton; George Cecrle Jr., Park City; Jennifer (David) Willbrant, Hollenberg; and ten grandchildren. A memorial fund is established to the Washington County Hospital Foundation or the Washington Christian Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home, Washington.
