Calvin was born April 22, 1941 at Washington, KS, son of Calvin E. and Clara (Menzies) Dodds. He graduated from Washington High School in 1959. On June 11, 1961, he was united in marriage to Teresa DeRemus in Washington. They had two sons, Cameron and Quinton. Calvin joined the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1967. He returned to Washington and worked for the Texaco Station, Westside Auto and for Firestone in Marysville. Toad also worked for the Washington Lumber Yard and after retiring from the Washington County Road Department, he returned to work part-time for the lumberyard until he retired June 15, for health reasons. Toad loved to hunt and fish and work on cars. He liked making things from wood and would fix things for people around town and repaired garage doors. He enjoyed being with family and visiting with friends. Calvin grew up with five brothers and sisters and they could make fun out of nothing, always playing jokes on each other. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Duncan Dodds and John Dodds; infant sister, Barbara Dodds; and a granddaughter, Autumn Dodds. Survivors include his wife, Teresa; two sons, Cameron Dodds, Washington, and Quinton (Daria) Dodds, Manhattan, KS; brother, Jim Dodds, Washington; sisters, Dorothy (Don) Slaughter, Belleville, KS, and Winifred (Harold) Nutsch, Morrowville, KS; and two grandchildren, Gavin and Kennedy Dodds.
