Ralph Schroeder

Ralph V. Schroeder, 82, of Derby, KS and formerly of Washington, KS, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009. He was a retired Otasco salesman and owner of Ralph’s Place, Derby. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 23 at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. Sister Marilyn Wall officiated. The music included "Holes in the Floor of Heaven", "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain". Pallbearers were Jesse Burkett, Jason Burkett, Jim Birch, Gary Schroeder, Denny Mayer and Donnie Slater. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Emile Schroeder; first wife, Donna; siblings, William, Ernest, Maxine, Marion and Duane Schroeder, and Helen Slater. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; children, Sally Konopka and husband Tom of Federal Way, WA, and Nancy Burkett and husband David of Derby; step-children, Jim Birch of Stillwater, OK, and Cheryl Hall and husband Charlie of Woodstock, CT; siblings, Bernice Landis of Belleville, KS; Gertrude Mayer and husband Verlin of Lincoln, NE, Vern R. Schroeder of Valparaiso, IN, and Victor K. Schroeder of Derby; grandchildren, Jason and Jesse Burkett, Melissa, Ashley and Caleb Hall; several special nieces and nephews.
