Don R. Moser, 78, of Washington, KS, died Friday, July 10, 2015 at his home near Washington. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 15 at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Sheila Ouellette was organist. Pallbearers were Kevin Keller, Rod Stewart, Jim Finlayson, Larry Nutsch, Leroy Martin, Gary Ouellette, Dylan Dittmar and Charles Ouellette. Burial followed in the Washington City Cemetery. Don was born February 22, 1937 at Hollenberg, KS, son of Rozell and Elsie (Henneberg) Moser. He served two years in the U.S. Army at Ft. Hood, TX. He worked for various Washington County banks until retiring after 45 years in the banking business. Don then farmed and raised cattle for 15 years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Don enjoyed going to Branson and went three times a year. He attended to K-State Basketball games, horse shows and state fairs. Don served on the Washington County Fair board and served on the Washington County School Board as treasurer. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Jean Moser; children and step-children, Kevin D. Moser, Riley, KS, Cynthia J. Stewart and Christine J. Stewart, both of Wamego, KS; sister, Lavone (Adelbert) Stewart, Washington; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the Washington County Relay for Life. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
