Gary L. VanWinkle

Gary L. Van Winkle, 56, died Feb. 1, 2006 at his parents home in Washington. Gary was born December 22, 1949 at Concordia to Marvin and Frances (Oestreich) Van Winkle. Gary was a farmer and a fabricator for Titan West in Linn. He was united in marriage to Rita Hill on December 13, 2006, at the Church of Christ in Morrowville. He is survived by his parents, Marvin and Frances Van Winkle, Washington; wife, Rita Van Winkle, Linn; daughter, Jennie Stricklin and husband Tony, Delaware, OH; son, Michael Van Winkle, Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Perry Van Winkle, Topeka, Bob Van Winkle and wife Karen, Corning; sisters, Wanda Leppla and husband Jim, Topeka, Rose Ballman and husband Don, Marysville; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Anna and Alisa Stricklin; mother-in-law, Maxine Hill, Beatrice, NE; brother-in-law, John Hill and wife Lori, Gretna, NE. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006 at the Linn High School, Linn at 3:30 pm. Pastor Phil Morris and Pastor Ron Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Washington City Cemetery. Casket bearers are Larry Wurtz, Warren Buss, Shaun Pearson, Jim Otwell, Dwight Colgrove, Michael Herrs, Mark Beikmann, and Arlie Pauli. Visitation is at the Ward Funeral Home, Linn, Friday, Feb. 3. from 5 to 7 pm. Ward Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
