Delmer E. Wiechmann, 76, died Tuesday, February 10, at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan. Visitation was Thursday, February 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home, Washington. A funeral service was Friday, February 13 at 10 a.m. at Ward Funeral Home. Pastor David Gruoner officiated. Sheila Ouellette was organist and the congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace”, "I’m But a Stranger Here” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.” Pallbearers were Royce Kolle, Randy Meyer, Quentin Meyer, Brady Meyer, Cody Meyer and Brian Oldehoeft. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Linn. Delmer was born on June 25, 1938 near Linn to William and Ella (Dittmer) Wiechmann. He grew up helping his father with the farm. Delmer loved farming and he drove a milk truck part time. He drove first for Harold Wiemers then LeDuc Trucking. He enjoyed visiting with friends and was a member of the American Legion. His brother, Elden Wiechmann, of Linn, survives him. Delmer was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Loren Wiechmann. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.
