Orville J. Loges, 95, Hanover, died at the Hanover Hospital, Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover, KS. Rev. Donna Florio officiated. Mae Nieman was organist and the congregation sang “Children of the Heavenly Father”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Lift High the Cross.” Visitation was held one hour prior to service time at the church. Pallbearers were Gordon Loges, David Loges, Jim Lohmeyer, Rick Lohmeyer, Greg Bohning and Gary Bohning. Burial was in Washington City Cemetery, Washington, KS. Orville was born at rural Hanover on July 29, 1919 to Henry A. and Anna E. (Rohlf) Loges. He attended Prairie Hill Country School to the eighth grade. He entered the Army, September 24, 1941 and was a radar operator. He was honorably discharged, December 24, 1945. Orville was a lifelong farmer near Hanover. He was united in marriage to Irma Eddlemanm on November 3, 1965 at Fairbury, NE. In 1999 they moved to Washington. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran, Hanover. He sang in the church choir and with a quartet. In Washington, he and Irma attended the First Baptist Church. Orville served on the Charleston Township Board. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Irma on July 13, 2007; sister, Mildred Lohmeyer; and nephew, Michael D. Loges. Survivors include brother, Elmer H. (Eileen) Loges, Washington; sister, Mary Ann (Jay) Bohning, Camdenton, MD; and nieces and nephews. Memorial Fund: Established to Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover.
