Hulda Meyer, 88, of Linn, KS, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Linn Nursing Home. Visitation was Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. A funeral service began at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Gruoner officiating. Eunice Beier was the organist and the congregation sang “My God, Accept My heart This Day”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, and “Let Me Be Thine Forever.” Pall bearers were Fred Meyer, Danny Meyer, Joshua Meyer, Erik Zabokrtsky, Mark Kenaston and Leonard Herrs. Burial was in the church cemetery. On June 27, 1926, the Lord blessed Friedrich and Louise (Herrs) Meyer of rural Linn, Ks with the gift of an infant daughter whom they named Hulda Louise Meyer. She was baptized into the saving faith of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on July 11, 1926 at Zion Lutheran Church, by Rev. Karstensen. Hulda began her school at McAtee School and her remaining grade school years at Zion Lutheran School. She confirmed her faith in Jesus Christ in the rite of confirmation, March 17, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. W.G. Biel. Hulda was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, Linn. Hulda enjoyed cooking and sewing; everything outdoors - vegetable gardening, flowers, the farm animals and all things pertaining to the farm. Preceding her in death were her parents; infant sister, Ella; sister Elfriede Meyer; infant brother, Albert Meyer; and brothers, Adolph Meyer and Gustav Meyer. Hulda is survived by many cousins and her farming community. Memorials to Meadowlark Hospice or the donor's choice. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
