Lucille Rudkins, 94, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Washington. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Ward Funeral Home, Washington.  Pastor Judy Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Hollenberg Cemetery. Lucille was born on December 11, 1919 in rural Franklin Township in Washington County to Christian W. and Helena (Neuman) Henke.   On September 25, 1940, she married Edd Rudkins at the Methodist Parsonage in Belleville. Lucille helped Edd on the farm, raising cattle, hogs and chickens. She worked hard on the farm, and raised a garden.  When she and Edd retired from farming, they moved to Washington. Lucille would read the plat books and enjoyed traveling back roads, sightseeing and watching wildlife. She liked to sew, crochet and work bible word search puzzles.      Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edd; brothers Henry Henke, August Henke, Herman Henke and Alvin Henke; and sister, Lily Rohlf. Survivors include daughter, Marlene (Willie) Iwert, Garden City, KS; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established in her name and will be designated later.
