Lorna Wilgers, 85, of Washington, Kan., died Friday, March 7, at Omaha, Neb.A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 12 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Palmer. Rev. Tom Sahl officiated. Musicians were John and Judy Wilgers and Timothy Wilgers. They played and sang "Beautiful Savior" and "Come To Jesus." The congregation sang "Jesus, Lead Thou On" and "Just As I Am."Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Tracy Masterson, Timothy Wilgers, Henry Wilgers, Charles Wilgers, Colin Murphy and Tyler Murphy.Lorna Emma Wilgers, 85, went to her eternal rest on Friday, March 7, 2014, in Omaha, Nebraska. Lorna was born on September 9, 1928 in Linn, Kansas to Albert and Emma Kuhlman. She graduated from Linn High School in 1946. Lorna married Wayne D. Wilgers from Linn in 1949, and they lived in Linn, Clyde and Haddam before retiring in Washington, Kansas.She worked at the Kuhlman Motor Company and the Washington County Creamery in Linn. Lorna was the city clerk and librarian in Clyde, and she was a clerk at the ASCS office in Washington. In retirement, Lorna volunteered at the Washington County Historical Museum. Lorna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Palmer, the Women of the ELCA, the Washington County Historical Society and the Red Hat Society.Lorna enjoyed reading, playing games with her grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles, watching sports while following local sports teams and making quilts for those in need. She especially loved hosting her family during the holidays and attending church with her family.Lorna will be greatly missed by her extended family and a host of friends. Lorna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne, her parents, three brothers, three sisters, and her daughter-in-law, Jan.Survivors include three sons: Bruce and wife Karen of Wichita, Doug of Palm Springs, CA, and John and wife Trudy of Minnetonka, MN; a daughter, Wendy Murphy and husband Joe of North Bend, NE.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Kuhlman and wife Carolyn of Shawnee, KS, and one sister, Dorothy Lough and husband John of Cameron City, CA.Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 325 West Third Street, Palmer, KS 66962.
