Virginia L. Jonte

VIRGINIA JONTE Washington – Virginia Lee Jonte, 69, Washington, died November 12, 2005, at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina. She was born June 29, 1936, in Haddam the daughter of William and Orpha Lee Latham Shoup. Virginia was a homemaker. In 1966 she married Emory Jonte in Santa Clara, CA. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Orpha Cross; her father William Shoup; and her step father, Leo Cross. Virginia is survived by a daughter, Roberta Alexander and husband Wiley, Washington; two sons, Bill Jonte and wife Margaret, Kansas City, MO, and Raymie Jonte and wife Cheryl, Oklahoma City, OK; a sister, Doris Lange and husband Merlin, Washington; and 11 grandchildren. Service was held Friday, November 18, 2005 at 10:30 am at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington. Pastor John Frey officiated. A private family inurnment will be at a later time at the Washington City Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to be designated by the family at a later time.
