Marie S. Clark, age 79, of Linn, KS, died March 8, 2008 at the Clay Center Hospital, Clay Center, KS. Marie was born November 4, 1928, in Greenleaf, KS. She was the daughter of William and Louise (Oestriech) Lohmeyer. On September 14, 1950, Marie was united in marriage to Phil Clark, at St. John’s Catholic Church, in Lawrence, KS. Their marriage was blessed with eight children: William, Phillip, Jr., John, Richard, Joseph, Michael, Janice, and Janet. Marie and Phil moved to Linn after Phil’s retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Marie enjoyed sewing and craftwork and most of all, spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael; four sisters, Alice Lohmeyer, Elda Woltje, Alvena Laue, and Dora Waterman; and three brothers, Marvin, Wilbert, and Herbert Lohmeyer. Marie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Phil; five sons, William Clark and wife Cathy of Hiawatha, KS, Phillip Clark and wife Patricia, of Hiawatha, John Clark and wife Dianne of Topeka, Richard Clark of Kansas City, and Joseph Clark and wife Margret of Belgrade, MT; two daughters, Janice Rutter and husband Kenneth of Tucson, AZ, and Janet Clark, of Tucson; brother, Arlo Lohmeyer of Linn, KS; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Greenleaf, KS. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Greenleaf, KS. Mrs. Clark will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, at the Ward Funeral Home, in Linn. Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of the Ward Funeral Home.
