Eleanor Augustus

Eleanor Augustus, 95, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Spring Valley. MN. A graveside service was at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Greenleaf City Cemetery, Greenleaf, KS. Pastor Judy Hill officiated. Eleanor was born December 12, 1917, in Greenleaf, the daughter of Forrest and Winnifred Lupher Thorman. She graduated from Greenleaf Hich School in 1935. Eleanor married Melvin Augustus in August 1937. They lived in Kansas, Iowa and Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Richard; a brother, Richard Thorman; a great-grandson, Justin Volkart;and a great-granddaughter, Hanley Augustus. Survivors include one daughter, Carol (Orlan) Shaw of Spring Valley, MN; sons, Wayne (Linda) Augustus of Pelican Rapids, MN, Farrel Augustus of Warford City, ND; a sister, Dorothy Vathauer of Blue Rapids, KS; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
