Earl William Simnitt was born November 7, 1918 in Washington, to George Walter and Minnie may (Rollman) Simnitt. Earl lived most of his life in the Morrowville area and was always a happy lovable person. He was known for his roll-your-own cigarettes and he could play the fiddle, guitar, and harmonica. His family would play at barn dances, Earl and his brothers would play fiddles while his mother, Minnie, played the piano and his father, George, would do the jig. He also played his harmonica at the nursing home. Earl worked as a mechanic at a garage in Washington in his younger years and worked as a handy man. The residents of Morrowville took cars, clocks, sewing machines, lawn mowers, etc., to Earl to fix. Earl was quite adept at fixing anything. Earl was always glad to have someone to visit with. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Otis, Lloyd and Clarence; three sisters, Mamie Bertram, Myrtle Yound and Ethel Naylor. He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Ila Fielder and Cathy Simnitt, and a brother-in-law, Ben Naylor, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated by the family at a later time. Ward Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
