LOUIS B. PAPE WASHINGTON - Louis Byron Pape, 83, Linn, died Friday February 18, 2005, at the Linn Community Nursing Home. He was born at Carden, KS., July 26, 1921 to Ernest Louis and Emma Augusta Hofflinger Pape. Mr. Pape served with the US Army during WWII and was employed by the State Highway Department for the State of Kansas. On November 17, 1951 he was united in marriage to Velma Minnie Stelljes at Belleville, KS. Velma preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Edward Pape; and a sister, Alma Allen. Louis is survived by two sons, Larry Pape and wife Joan, Washington, John Pape and wife Diann, Fairbury, NE; 5 grandchildren, Jared Pape, Robert Pape, Melissa Pape, Diana Aufdengarten and husband Brian, Stacy Lytle and husband Tony and a great granddaughter, Kylie Aufdengarten. Graveside services were held, Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Washington City Cemetery. Rev. Russell Sizemore officiated. His grandchildren were the casketbearers.
