Erma Ruth Hassler

RUTH HASSLER WASHINGTON – Erma Ruth Hassler, 94, died Friday March 4, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital. She was born in Formosa, KS on January 24, 1911 to William Blaine and Mercy Mary (Emery) Waggoner. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She married Donald H Hassler on August 24, 1935 at the courthouse in Washington. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald H. Hassler Jr; and two sisters, Fern Welch and Georgia Longwell. Ruth is survived by two sons, William B. Hassler and wife Marla, Sioux Falls, SD and Robert C. Hassler and wife Linda, Meriden, KS; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. The funeral service was held Monday, March 7, 2005, 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Washington. Pastor Phil Morris officiated. Organist was Sheila Ouellette and soloist was Von Dale Sweetland. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Kris Hassler, Kurt Hassler, Kevin Hassler, Chris Randall, Ron Scott and Dave Bisnette. A memorial fund has been established.
