ARTHUR WILLIAM JONES WASHINGTON – Arthur W. “Artie” Jones, 61, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital. He was born at Fort Riley, Kansas to Arthur W. and Wyonna (Schnegelsiepen) Jones on September 29, 1943. He lived at St. George, Ks and worked at a bottling company for several years before moving to Washington. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Washington. Artie was preceded in death by his parents. On June 8, 1991, Artie married Wyona Dexter in Wamego, KS. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Corina Correll, OK; a step daughter, Sharon Corby, St. George; two step sons; Larry Welch and wife Helen, Washington, Gerald Welch, Fredericksburg, VA; two brothers, Don Jones and wife Mary, Wamego, Kirk Jones and wife Carol, Manhattan; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington. Rev. Rex Fuller officiated. Burial was in the Washington City Cemetery. Casketbearers were Alan Beikmann, Jerry Pierce, Gary Dusin, Larry Pape, Kevin Frerking, Don Kramer and Mike Uhlrich. A memorial was established in his name to be designated later by the family.
