CLARENCE H. RIPPE LINN - Clarence H. Rippe, 76, Linn, died August 4, 2005 at his home. He was born at the family home in rural Linn on December 10, 1928, to Harry and Ida Dierking Rippe. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Linn. He attended parochial and high school at Linn. After graduating he farmed most of his life and served in the National Guard from 1941-1957 earning the rank of Sergeant First Class. Later in life he also enjoyed driving trucks for several local businesses. He married Joanna von Waaden on October, 7, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanover. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond Rippe; and two brothers in law, Emil Stalder and Richard Stamm. Survivors include his wife Jo of the home; two sons, Eddie and wife Betty, Gainesville, FL, Jim , Newton; a daughter, Kathy Richter and husband Alan, Barnes; two brothers, Dale and wife Lillian, Linn, Lloyd and wife Lydia Jo, Chapman, NE; a sister, Lucille Stalder, Wichita; two sisters in law, Judy Stamm, Anna, TX, Irene Irwin, New Castle, CO; Seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Monday, August 8, 2005 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Cremains will be interred in the Linn City Cemetery at a later date.
