Kenneth R. Beikmann, 75, of Marysville, KS, and formerly of Lubbock, TX, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was at 10 a.m., Friday, October 12, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, west of Linn, KS. Rev. Richard Rikli officiated. Amanda Beikmann played the organ while the congregation sang "Old Rugged Cross", "I'm But a Stranger Here" and "How Great Thou Art." The pallbearers were Mel Beikmann, Mike Beikmann, Mark Beikmann, Chris Stohs, Kevin Schotte and Rex Swanson. Burial was in the church cemetery. Kenneth was born November 17, 1936 at Clifton, KS, son of Theodore and Velma (Timme) Beikmann. He attended school in Washington County. After school he helped with the family farm until becoming a mason. Kenneth worked as a mason and bricklayer for over thirty years. On March 1, 1959 he married Marian E. Minard at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fremont, NE. Together they lived in Fremont until moving to Midland, TX, and later Lubbock, TX. Kenneth served as an Elder and usher at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lubbock. He enjoyed NASCAR and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Marian, Marysville; daughter, Mary (Mitch) Matheys, Green Bay, WI; sons, Roger (Angela) Beikmann, Lubbock, TX, and Kenneth (Katie) Beikmann, Jr., Twin Falls, ID; brother, Harold (Arlene) Beikmann, Palmer, KS; sisters, Velinda (Rick) Wilson, Washington, KS, Ruth (Richard) Schotte, Bremen, KS, and Marsha (Jerry) Stohs, Bremen, KS; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Darold. A memorial fund has been established. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
