Jack O. Bell, 83, of Greenleaf, KS, died Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Homestead Nursing Home, Washington, KS. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be Wednesday, 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Greenleaf Cemetery. Jack was born on February 12, 1929, on a farm near Greenleaf, to John and Irene (Drebes) Bell. He attended grade school near Greenleaf and graduated from Greenleaf High School in 1947. He attended specialized training for electricity and structural plumbing at the University of Nebraska. Jack served with the US. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was a painter and electrician, working in the Greenleaf-Barnes area. He was a people lover and didn't know many strangers. As a result, he enjoyed visiting with everyone. A memorial fund has been established to the Washington County Hospital Endowment Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
