Greenleaf, KS – Berniece Florence Hogan, age 85 of Greenleaf, died July 20, 2005 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. Berniece, the daughter of August and Lydia (Talbot) Kloppenberg, was born November 6, 1919 at Hanover, KS. Berniece graduated from high school and attended college for two years where she earned her nursing degree. She was united in marriage to Francis Hogan on August 23, 1939 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf. Berniece was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; the altar society of the church and was very involved in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Francis; one son, Gerald Francis Hogan; one daughter, Lynar Kaye Hogan; three brothers, Ivan Kloppenberg, Donald Kloppenberg and Norman Kloppenberg. Berniece is survived by one daughter, Prudence M. Deluca of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, July 22, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf. Inurnment was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Greenleaf. Officiating at the service was Father James Hoover and Sister Marilyn Wall. Music for the service was provided by Marie Hoover and the Sacred Heart Catholic choir.
